Premium lenses

Say goodbye to glasses with multifocal intraocular lenses

Everything you need to know about premium lenses

1

Premium lens suitability criteria

Premium lenses are the top choice for anyone looking for superior vision correction. Designed to fit your unique lifestyle and vision needs, these IOLs provide exceptional clarity, comfort, and performance. Perfect for those who demand the best, they seamlessly adapt to all aspects of daily life, helping you not only see better but also live better.

2

How premium lenses works

Types of IOLs:

  • Monofocal IOLs:These are specifically designed to correct distance vision and are often used in standard cataract surgery to replace the eye’s natural lens. They provide clear vision for long distances, but patients will still need glasses for near tasks, such as reading menus, using smartphones, or looking at the car dashboard.
  • EDOF IOLs: EDOF lenses are the latest technological achievement when it comes to correcting vision over all distances. This technology is more reliant on the natural pupil size and has only two indistinct focal zones. With these lenses, patients can have excellent far and intermediate vision, and very good near vision.
  • Multifocal IOLs: These IOLs restore vision at three focal points—near, intermediate, and far—making them an excellent choice for those who want to eliminate the need for glasses entirely.
  • Toric IOLs: Designed to correct corneal astigmatism, which occurs when the eye is not spherical but more oval, these lenses help light focus correctly. Toric IOLs can be used in both monofocal and multifocal lenses and require expert placement for proper correction of astigmatism.

Advantages:

  • Exceptional clarity and sharpness of vision, customised to individual needs.
  • Potential improvement in night vision and reduced reliance on glasses or contact lenses.
  • A long-term solution for vision correction.

Disadvantages:

  • Higher cost compared to standard IOLs.
  • Possible adjustment period to adapt to the new vision quality.
  • Not all patients may be suitable candidates for premium IOLs.
  • In rare cases, patients might experience glare or halos around lights at night.
4

Premium lens risks

While premium IOLs can provide significant vision improvements, there are risks, including potential glare or halos at night, a short adjustment period, and the need for a thorough assessment to ensure the best results.

5

Premium lens options and alternatives

Premium IOL options offer unmatched clarity and customization. Alternatives include standard monofocal IOLs, which provide reliable vision correction at a lower cost but with less customization and a potential need for additional eyewear.

6

Premium lens results

After receiving premium IOLs, individuals often see a dramatic improvement in vision quality, enjoying crystal-clear clarity at various distances. Many find their reliance on glasses greatly reduced, if not completely eliminated, enhancing their daily lives with newfound freedom and confidence in their visual abilities.
